This non-profit organization is dedicated to preserving and honoring the United States lightship service and maritime history within our community here in coastal Delaware.
Speakers from DE River & Bay Lighthouse Foundation and the Overfalls Foundation will be speaking about the refurbishment of the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse and the history of the Overfalls Lightship in Lewes.

On June 4th 1938, LV-118 was christened in East Boothbay, Maine and was then named Cornfield in recognition of the lightship station at Cornfield Point where she would first be assigned. Sometimes referred to as the ship's birthday, a ship's christening is when it is launched and first touches the water.
